Lost Sound dokumentiert Fragmente von Audiokassetten, die im Osten Londons gefunden wurden. Der Ton der jeweiligen Tapes wird dabei mit Bildern des Fundorts kombiniert. Das Werk erforscht das Potenzial des Zufalls, indem es Porträts von ausgewählten Orten durch die formale, narrative und musikalische Verschmelzung von Bild und Ton erschafft. Die zufällige Entdeckung der Kassetten ist dabei das Bindeglied.
Lost Sound documents fragments of discarded audio tape found on the streets of a small area of East London, combining the sound retrievedfrom each piece of tape with images of the place where it was found. The work explores the potential of chance, creating portraits of particular places by building formal, narrative and musical connections between images and sounds linked by the random discovery of the tape samples.
