Hamburg Cultural Foundation's Short Film Night
Made in Hamburg! - For several years this name stood for two programmes of short films from and about Hamburg. But as one of the (wrong) chlichés about Hamburg is the city's arrogance, we decided to skip the vainity this year by showing the films from Hamburg as equals among the Saxons, Friesians, Bavarians and Berliners within the German Competition.
Although this equality just pretended. All films with roots in Hamburg will be shown in a special screening during the festival: The Hamburg Cultural Foundation's Short Film Night on Friday, 8 June at the zeise 1 and consists of two programmes, which could have been the Made in Hamburg selection of 2007. Maybe this accentuation is proof for the alleged arrogance, maybe it's just local patriotism, maybe an indication for quality. In any case, it's a lot of Hamburg!
